ENC ORDERING

Guidelines for Preparing ENC Chart Baskets in the PRIMAR Product Catalogue

The below instructions aim to help you ordering Electronic Navigational Charts (ENCs) using the PRIMAR Product Catalogue. By following this step-by-step process, you will ensure that your chart selections are accurate and ready to be submitted for a quotation. This method simplifies the selection process while ensuring all the necessary details are included to provide you with a timely response and pricing information.

Step 1: Accessing the PRIMAR Product Catalogue

  1. Begin by visiting the PRIMAR Product Catalogue website at the following link: https://primar.ecc.no/primar/portal/ccw/.
  2. You do not need to log in to proceed. The process has been simplified to prepare and send chart baskets directly without logging into an account.

Step 2: Selecting ENCs

The PRIMAR Product Catalogue provides multiple methods for selecting ENCs. Depending on your preferences and available data, you can choose from the following options:
  1. Graphical Selection
    • Use the interactive map to draw a selection box around the desired area.
    • For more precision, enable the “Select only fully contained products” option. This ensures only products entirely enclosed within your selection area are included.
  2. Route Selection
    • If you have route data, upload an RTZ file generated by your vessel’s ECDIS or ECS systems. The system will automatically identify and add relevant charts based on your route.
  3. List Selection
    • If you know the specific charts required, use the list view to manually search for and select them.
  4. Filter Options
    • To narrow your search, apply filters such as:
      • Country-specific ENCs
      • New or updated charts since a certain date
      • Specific usage bands, including general, coastal, and harbor charts
    • These filters ensure that you only see charts relevant to your navigation needs.

After selecting your charts, a confirmation dialog box will display the total number of ENCs added to your basket. You can continue adjusting your selection as needed.

Step 3: Sending the Basket

Once your ENC selection is finalized, follow these steps to send the basket to HARTIS:
  1. Click on the Send Basket option in the menu.
  2. Fill in the required details:

  4. Once submitted, the basket will be sent to us for review and processing.
