World-Wide Navigational Warning Service (WWNWS)
WWNWS is a service inside the G.M.D.S.S system. It is about navigation safety information and provides information that mainly concern:
• Nautical perils
• Minor Lights and buoys damages
• Drifted mines
• Wire casting or other sub-marine activities
• Drills
• Ship- Aircraft firing
• Dangerous wrecks
• Constructions or works in harbors and channels
Implementation
For the purposes of WWNWS the world is divided into 19 geographical areas, termed NAVAREAS. Each one has a coordinator.
NAVAREAS have been divided into SUB AREAS and regions established by the states that belong in the NAVAREA area and are the coordinators of the notice’s transmissions in their area.
