Compass rose is the result of the human need to determine the direction of the wind, namely the angle formed by the direction of the wind that comes with the True North.

Horizon

When looking at the high sea we see a circle at the end of which it seems that the sky and the sea are connected. This circle is called ‘visible horizon’.

Thereby, the compass rose is a circle that represents the horizon of a place, in the center of which stands the observer.

Contemporary compass roses are subdivided in degrees according to the holocyclic peripheral concept, from 000- 360 degrees, always from North and to the right.

The direction of the wind is always considered to be the direction from which the wind blows.
